The China Enterprise Confederation has selected Monitor Group as one of Top 100 multinational corporations contributing to the economic development of China in 2009.
According to officials, this follows the selection of Monitor in 2008 as one of the Top 60 multinational corporations that have made the greatest contributions to China in the 30 years since the country instituted economic reforms.
"For nearly 20 years, Monitor has supported innovation in business, government and Chinese society and this award for 2009 along with the one in 2008, recognizes the positive contribution Monitor colleagues in China, catalog printing with support from our global network, have made to the economy and the country," said Ed Hotard, Chairman of Monitor Group in China. "This award is particularly gratifying because it highlights our Monitor China colleagues' commitment to China's economic and sustainable development, thereby improving the standard of living for all Chinese citizens."
Monitor was chosen from more than 1,500 companies in a process that included evaluations by 25 experts and voting by Chinese business and government leaders, as well as readers of China Enterprise News, Sina.com and Xinhua.com.
paper bag printingMonitor was honored in Beijing on January 15, at an event hosted by the China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association (CEC) led by Wang Zhongyu, Chairman of CEC and former State Councillor and Secretary of the State Council.
According to officials, Monitor has been an active participant in China's economy since 1993. The firm has worked within the Chinese commercial and government sectors, as well assisting multinational corporations to enter the Chinese market. Monitor, which has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, has performed projects in China in the pharmaceutical, consumer products and services, aviation, raw materials, chemicals, heavy industrial, mining and metals, real estate, automotive and telecommunication industries.
